FAQs
What sizes do you carry?
We carry band size wire; 28 to 46 and cup size A to K. Band size no-wire; 34 to 50 and cup size A to J.
How long does it take to get fitted at La Jolie?
This will depend as we always take our time to get it right and will never rush the fitting process. We have done some fittings in 10 minutes and others in over half an hour.
Do I need to make an appointment?
No appointment necessary! We are purely walk-in.
What if I already know my bra size? Do I need a fitting?
We see a lot of woman who are wearing the wrong size when they visit us. Since sizes vary slightly between manufacturers and models, only a professional fitting will get it right.
Why wear a bra?
- Comfort.
- Prevent and lessen backache and shoulder strain, especially in busty woman.
- Delay (but not prevent) sagging.
- Control sweating under the breast.
- Hide nipples.
- Prevent bouncing, helping prevent pain and discomfort.
- Enhance beauty.
- Enhance posture.
Does it matter if the bra size is right?
- A bra distributes the weight of the bust onto the shoulders and waist area. If the size is not correct it will put more strain on either the back or the neck, or it might not help at all.
- A bra that is not fitted right will either feel uncomfortable or it will be useless as it will not give any support.
How long does a bra last?
Once a bra loses its stretch and feels like it is not giving the right support, it needs to be replaced. If you only have one bra and wear it every day, most manufacturers recommend replacing a bra after three to six months. It is recommended to have more than one bra and alternate between bras.
How do I take care of my bra?
Bras maintain their shape best when hand-washed in gentle soap. Only soak for three minutes.
If machine washing, hook bras closed and put them in a mesh laundry bag. This prevents them from being tangled in the agitator and destroying their fit and wire.
Always hang to dry. The heat from the dryer destroys the fibers that control the stretch.
Do not use any type of bleach.
How often do I need to wash my bra?
Bras are in close contact with your skin and close to ‘sweaty’ areas like arm pits and under the bust. So they should be treated like other underwear.
What do I do when I’m pregnant?
During pregnancy, the bust grows bigger, softer, and heavier. This makes it even more important to wear a bra that will help with support to relieve pain and irritation.
